Dave Blackwell

Welcome back to my author interview blog.

Now this week we have the wonderful mind of Dave Blackwell with us. Now Dave and I have chatted a fair bit, and this is a man who is filled to the brim with ideas. Every time we have stopped to chat he is in the middle of developing something new or setting aside ideas for the future. A fun little fact about him is a good bit of his ideas actually stem from his dreams, which he has a journal where he puts them down in.

Clearly the man is a creative well and no doubt it translates beautifully into his craft.

Speaking of which, let's get down into it shall we?

---
1) How long have you been a writer?

I started writing at the age of 13.  Poems, plays and short stories.  Some of my work was used in plays when I attended Drama School.

2) What got you into writing?

I was a huge Stephen King and James Herbert fan and loved the idea of putting my ideas to print.

3) What’s your favorite genre of writing?

I would have to say Horror, however I am taken in with Sci Fi at the moment with a couple of project ideas.

4) Do you have any work already published? If not do you want to include a snippet of what you’re currently working on?

I published my first book in December 2017, a story of abuse, bullying, depression and loss.  The story is based on personal experiences.

5) What’s your WIP about?

I started on my Science Fiction project 'Stratagem'  A story about a man that has a mundane job, and starts to experience deja vu.  His colleagues and friends start to act strange towards him.  He is involved in an accident, which left him severely injured.  However his injuries disappear and the world around him begins to change.

6) Who is your favorite character to write so far? And why?

An Italian girl called Amara, she is the love interest of the main character and also the reason the world is falling apart around him.  She plays a huge role in the story, has a large back story herself.
